Who qualifies
- You work or will work for a Polish employer on an employment or mandate contract
- The employer e-signs Annex 1 in MOS (or you hold a valid work permit for the same job)
- Your salary is at least the minimum wage (4,806 PLN gross in 2026) and not lower than comparable workers, and working time is between 1/4 and full time
- You are not staying on a student visa (art. 116 pkt 5): student-visa holders may apply for the Blue Card instead
Conditions the office checks
- Health insurance (ZUS or private)
- Stable and regular income at least at the social-assistance threshold for your household (1,010 PLN single / 823 PLN per person)
- Guaranteed place of residence in Poland
- Legal stay in Poland on the filing date; the occupation is not on the county's restricted list

Work rights
Work only for the employer and on the terms stated in the decision. Job loss: notify the voivode within 15 working days; the permit is protected for 30 days once. A new employer needs a change of the permit (220 PLN, request within 15 working days) or a new application.

Stamp duty (340/440 PLN) goes to the city office competent for the voivodeship office; the card fee (100 PLN, 50 PLN for students and under-16s) goes to the voivodeship office after the decision. Since 5 March 2026 the stamp duty is not refunded on refusal or discontinuation. Sworn translations of your documents are paid separately to the translator.

Pitfalls we see most often
- Annex 1 salary lower than the minimum wage or inconsistent with the contract
- No Profil Zaufany on the last day of legal stay: the application cannot be signed
- Changing employer during the procedure without informing the office
- Filing on a student visa (the single permit is refused; use the Blue Card route)
